Tamara Young

Tamara opened Consign Couture in 2011 (originally in Portland’s St. Johns neighborhood) not only as a well-curated consignment shop for women’s clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories, but as a welcoming, inclusive community space to shop and feel nurtured. Consign Couture was embraced whole-heartedly by St. Johns and, thankfully, that love and support transferred and grew when the shop moved to Lake Oswego in 2018.

Since the inception of Consign Couture, Tamara has also been a speaker for Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of topics including sustainable fashion and inspiration; helped start clothing closet to help those in need; styled on photoshoots for companies; and run a successful shopping tour business focused on creating meaningful experiences for women and bringing attention to shopping local. Prior to Consign Couture, Tamara had a 9 year career in sales management for a advertising & marketing company, Tamara attended college at the University of Oregon and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Rachael Hofmann

Rachael became Tamara’s business partner in 2019, but has been part of the Consign Couture family for a long time - as Tamara’s friend (even working the store in a pinch), as a long-time customer (she LOVES clothes), and as a part of the store’s community (from attending events as a vendor to bringing in friends and family to shop).

Rachael started her career in high-touch customer service opening Wolfgang Puck’s flagship Spago restaurant, primarily managing parties for the Beverly Hills elite. Seeking work with more personal meaning, she moved into the nonprofit sector doing development/fundraising for one of LA’s largest health care clinics for the uninsured. Then moving to Washington DC, she worked as the lieutenant to the executive director of PBS Foundation (Public Broadcasting Service) and solicited gifts of $1 million and above for public television at the national level. Relocating to Portland in 2008, Rachael was a nonprofit consultant and served as the first executive director for the August Wilson Red Door Project, helping it achieve the honor of Portland Monthly Magazine’s “Best New Nonprofit” in 2011. Since then, and before partnering with Tamara, Rachael dedicated her time to raising her twin daughters and pursuing creative entrepreneurial endeavors. Rachael has a degree in political science and community development from Howard University.

Nancy Despain

House Stylist and Shop Mama

Nancy first came to Consign Couture as a valued customer and has become our shop mama - working the store, showing off our latest finds in social media videos, and as our House Stylist. Always smiling and helpful, she has a knack for knowing exactly what will make you look your best (could it be because she not only has amazing personal style but also spent 30 years as an esthetician and makeup artist? She really does it all). We could not be more grateful for Nancy’s hard work, enthusiasm, and truly sunny disposition.

Must-have daily wardrobe item: I love a good jacket!

Andrea Metheney

Andrea asked for a subscription to Vogue magazine the Christmas she was 12… and the rest is history. Her lifelong love of design and beauty is evident in how she merchandises the store, recommends clothing options to customers, and always looks perfectly put-together herself. She is a joy to have in the store! Outside Consign Couture, Andrea is raising her 12 year old son, finishing her degree in psychology, and is passionate about fighting domestic violence. Andrea loves helping women feel their best, no matter what chapter of life they’re going through.

Jade Bautista

Styling & Marketing

Jade has been with Consign Couture on and off for 6 years! It's been an ongoing joke that she is a forever employee, and that "joke" is actually becoming a reality. Jade is amazing at styling customers and photoshoots. She currently writes our newsletters and helps behind the scenes in innumerable ways. Jade graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in 2017 and is now a licensed massage therapist, making her a third generation healer. She often has a chair massage station set up during our Self Care Saturdays, so be sure to book a time with her when she’s there! You will NOT regret it.

Biggie & Miso

Best buds/Shopdogs/Partners in Cuteness

Miso is Tamara’s little guy and Biggie is part of Rachael’s family, but they have a lot in common. One or both of these fellas can often be found at the store greeting customers, hanging by the dressing rooms to give fashion advice, or sleeping.

Miso can be a little grumpy if you wake him up from a nap, but if you let him come to you, you are golden! Biggie wants to be pet all the time - like, ALL THE TIME.

Both guys were adopted from the Oregon Humane Society - Miso in late 2017 and Biggie in early summer 2019. Please support the Oregon Humane Society - they do amazing work!
